Hexham Abbey Marquee wedding setting bride wearing grey nude tulle silk lace wedding dress flower crown grey top hat and tails tailcoat

Juliet

From the start Juliet knew she didn’t want a conventional ivory wedding dress…. And she wanted to be able to dance in it! We played around with different tones of blush and grey until we had the perfect combination created by layers of tulle and silk lace. The wedding was in July 2021 which meant rules around weddings and numbers of guests were ever changing, this would have stressed many brides out but not Juliet! She came to every fitting in such an excitable mood and twirled around the studio as her dress took shape. The wedding was booked for Hexham Abbey so we decided on a separate lace tunic-style top in oyster coloured silk. This was tied in to place by velvet ribbons and could be removed later in the day to reveal a softly pleated bodice underneath for a more relaxed ‘dance-able’ look! James also wanted a bespoke outfit and opted for a pale grey wool double-breasted waistcoat with William Morris Willow pattern to the back. I loved seeing the photos of their wedding day and how much smiling, laughter and dancing they had done.
